We are in the business of telling stories.

We like our stories to have humour, because life does; heart, because people do; and something to take home sometimes a thought, a smile, or a lump in your throat.

Over the years, some have travelled further than we imagined. They have found their way into conversations, classrooms, families and friendships. Their characters have become familiar faces, their words part of everyday language, and their ideas have lived on long after the credits rolled.

Our films have received some of Indian cinema’s highest honours, including National Film Awards, Filmfare Awards and numerous international and popular awards. But awards are only one measure of a film’s life.

The other is what remains.

Years later, people still quote the lines, remember the characters, laugh at the jokes and argue about the ideas. Sometimes, a line from a film even becomes part of the way a generation thinks.

That is the kind of cinema we want to make.

Films that entertain.
Films that matter.
And, if we’re lucky, films that stay alive.
